Research impact is difficult to define but nevertheless important to be able to convey. We may want to convey the impact of specific publications, of an individual’s body of scholarly work, or of a collective department in a research area to our academic colleagues, our institutions, to local practitioners or to the broader community. Among other topics, this webinar will focus on translating academic findings and conclusions to those that resonate with general business audiences, tailoring a research paper pitch to journalists, connecting with college media relations staff, and preparing for media appearances. It will also introduce AAA media resources and the AAA’s approach to (and results of) highlighting journal articles within and beyond the accounting sphere.

Learning objective: Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to effectively translate academic research for business audiences by accurately summarizing key findings, adapting technical terminology, developing communication strategies, and constructing business-focused presentations or reports that convey practical implications for decision-making.
